چکیده
Pipeline transportation has become an effective way to transport sludge from wastewater treatment plants due its high efficiency, low operating cost, and environmental pollution. Before designing optimizing the sludge-conveying pipeline, it is first necessary analyze rheological properties of sludge. In this paper, activated with varying volume concentrations (Cw) 2.38%, 3.94%, 5.39% was used as research object. Under three temperature (T) conditions 293 K, 298 303 concentration were investigated, based on results, a model established. The experimental results indicated that upward downward paths shear stress change curve generally similar but did not overlap, hysteresis loop formed between two characteristics thinning. limiting viscosity different increased increase in concentration. This phenomenon caused by differences internal flocculent network structure fluid flow effects. At rates, experiment decreased temperature. stability test weakened Additionally, rate then stabilized, exhibiting thinning characteristics. above described using Bingham Herschel–Bulkley models.

Rheological Behavior of Fresh Activated Sludge
Despite of few research works on municipal sludge, still there is a lack of actual data. Thus, this work was focused on the conditioning and rheology of fresh activated sludge. The effect of cationic polyelectrolyte has been investigated at different concentrations and pH values in a comparative fashion. Yield stress is presented in all results indicating the minimum stress that necessary to re...

This paper presents the results of an investigation on the effects of concentration of cations on activated sludge properties and membrane fouling in submerge membrane bioreactors. The working volume of the experimental setup was two liters. The cellulose acetate membrane was immersed in the bioreactor. The flocculability, settling properties and fouling propensity of activated sludge was measu...
متن کاملMechanical properties of dewatered sewage sludge.
The mechanical properties of dewatered, anaerobically digested sewage sludge were determined from soil laboratory tests. The sludge material is largely composed of organic clay sized-particles, a sizable fraction of which is in an active state of biological digestion which can continue over many years under field conditions. Moderately digested sludge material was found to have a typical specif...

متن کاملEffect of solution physical chemistry on the rheological properties of activated sludge
Knowledge on rheological properties of sludge is important for the design of pumping and transport facilities and as a tool in process control during treatment. Concentrated activated sludge is known to behave as a non-Newtonian material. The contribution to nonNewtonian behaviour is believed to originate from the colloidal properties of solids more than from the molecular properties of the sus...
